Questions

Questions you might have.

Is it really free?

Yes. Both projects are free for everyone. Music for Global Peace is self-funded and does not ask for donations.

Who can take part?

World Prayer for Peace welcomes artists of every kind, and anyone who is an artist at heart, from all faiths and any country. World Mail Art for Peace is open to everyone, worldwide. Nobody needs to travel, and there is nothing to prove.

Do I need to belong to a faith?

No. Artists from all faiths take part, and there is no religious requirement.

How do I send my prayer line?

Use the form on this page or email prayer@musicforglobalpeace.org, when the call opens on 1 January. No social media is needed.

Can I take part in both projects?

Yes, and you are welcome to. Send a line of prayer and an artwork for the mail art call.

Which languages can I use for my prayer line?

English is preferred, but any language is welcome. We translate every line into English.

How many artworks can I send?

Any number, there is no limit.

Will my artwork be returned?

No. Submitted artworks will not be returned.

What happens to my artwork?

It is collected, scanned and brought together with peaceful music in the Global Peace Music Mail Art Video. Every artist is credited by name and country.

What size should my artwork be?

There is no restriction. Send anything a scanner can handle, from a small postcard up to a flat A3 sheet. For email, a clear scan or photo in JPG or PNG is fine.

Can I send my work after 30 June 2027?

No. The deadline is final, and works must reach us by 30 June 2027 to be in the video.

Who owns my work?

You do. You keep ownership of your work and give Music for Global Peace permission to use it in the project, with you credited. We may edit it when needed, and final decisions rest with us. Read the full permission terms.

Will my words or artwork be edited?

Possibly, only if needed. Music for Global Peace has the right to edit a submission when it helps the project, for example to shorten a prayer line for length, translate it, or crop or resize an artwork. We keep the spirit of your words and your work, the team decides what is best for the project, and final decisions rest with Music for Global Peace.

How will I be credited?

Every artist is credited by name and country, and everyone who takes part is included. For mail art, please also include the title of the work.

I have a question. Who do I ask?

Write to help@musicforglobalpeace.org. We are happy to help.

When will the videos be released?

Both videos are released on World Peace Day, 21 September, and stay online on YouTube and on this website.
