Who owns my work?

You do. These are the plain-language terms that apply when you send a prayer line or an artwork to World Prayer for Peace or World Mail Art for Peace.

  • It is your workYou confirm that it is your own work, or that you have the right to share it.
  • You keep ownershipYour work stays yours. This permission is not exclusive, so you can still use your own work anywhere else.
  • Our permission to use itYou give Music for Global Peace permission, free of charge, worldwide and with no end date, to use, copy, edit, translate, adapt, publish and share your work in any form and any media.
  • Where it may appearThe project videos, this website, YouTube, and the archive and promotion of Music for Global Peace.
  • CreditYou will be credited by name and country.
  • Editing and final decisionsMusic for Global Peace has the right to edit a submission, only if needed and when it helps the project, for example to shorten a prayer line for length, translate it, or crop or resize an artwork. We keep the spirit of your words and your work, and final decisions rest with Music for Global Peace.
  • TestimonialsIf you share your thoughts about the project in a form, the team may publish them as a testimonial, with your name, country and organization, if the team decides to.
  • No paymentNo payment is made for any use, and taking part is free.
  • Artworks are not returnedMail art that is sent by post is kept and not returned.
