Each year Music for Global Peace opens two projects side by side. Both open in January and each becomes a video with music, released together on World Peace Day, 21 September.
Project one · 13th edition
World Prayer for Peace 2027
By artists of every kind, from all faiths
A global peace project bringing together artists from all faiths to pray and unite for world peace. Artists of every kind are welcome, and anyone who is an artist at heart. Send one line of prayer for peace, in English or any language, from anywhere, with no travel and no religious requirement. We translate each line into English and weave them into a single prayer, set to music in Hawaii and released with every artist credited.
Twelve editions are already in the archive. The thirteenth opens in January.
Released as: a music video — your prayer line, narrated over music, with every artist credited.
A global peace project bringing together mail artists, makers, and anyone who loves to create, to share what peace feels like to them. Send a handmade postcard, drawing, collage, visual poem, or letter, by post or as a scan, from anywhere, in any technique, with nothing to pay. Every artwork is collected and scanned, then shown over music in a single video, released with every artist credited.
This is the first edition. It opens in January.
Released as: a music video — every artwork, scanned and shown over music, with every artist credited.

Why two
Two ways for peace to travel.
The prayer
Words that become music.
Each artist writes a single line. From many languages and many places, the lines are woven into one prayer.
Set to music, it becomes something you can listen to.
The artwork
Art, sent by post.
A handmade artwork takes its time. It passes through many hands and arrives in yours.
It is something you can see and hold.
Words you can hear. Art you can see. Two global peace projects, one release day — every 21 September.
MAILart
What is mail art?
Mail art is art made to travel through the post. For decades, artists around the world have exchanged it freely, often without fees or juries, as a way of staying connected. It is a natural home for a project about peace.
If you are an artist at heart, you are welcome.
Painters, singers, poets, makers, performers, and anyone who loves to create.
For 25 years, I have made music for peace — not because I believed music could stop a war, but because I believed it could reach a heart. One heart at a time.
That work has grown into two annual projects: World Prayer for Peace (words become music — because we all pray in some way, whatever faith or no faith) and World Mail Art for Peace (art travels by post — because art has no boundaries, as peace has no boundaries). All open on January 1. All release on September 21, World Peace Day. Every year.
I do not ask for money or recognition. I ask only this: if you are an artist at heart, you are welcome. Send a line. Send an artwork. Be part of it — or simply watch, and know that somewhere in the world, someone is saying what you are saying too.
“We smile with the same expression. We cry with the same tears. Peace for all.”
